The BBC recently reported the struggle that the NHS is having meeting its own 62-day targets for cancer patients. The target is that 85% of patients referred to the NHS with cancer receive treatment within 62 days of referral.
Sadly this seems to be especially true for Head and Neck Cancer cases, and unfortunately reflects some of the challenges patients face seeing appropriate specialists at an early stage.
If you are worried that this could delay your diagnosis and treatment, we would be happy to see you in our clinics.
With help from the whole team at H+N SL we have been able to offer curative treatment within 7 days of diagnosis for over 95% of our patients in the last 12 months.
Raf was invited as an expert to partake in a great panel discussion concentrating on difficult airway management in Head and Neck Cancer surgery.
As you can imagine, our mouth cancer patients are some of the most challenging patients to intubate, due to the presence of the tumour and the altered anatomy.
The course showcased innovative difficult airway management techniques that our Anaesthetists use regularly to provide our patients with the safest intubation techniques possible.
It was a pleasure for Raf to be invited to attend the launch of the Global Heath Exhibition at the embassy of the Royal Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia in London.
He was able to discuss the provision for complex Head and Neck Cancer surgery and innovative techniques being offered by the Cromwell Hospital directly with the Saudi Health Attaché.
This year’s Global Health Exhibition brought together world-renowned experts, thought leaders and key stakeholders to discuss the latest innovations, challenges and advancements in healthcare.
The event covers critical topics such as investment in healthcare in Saudi Arabia, digital health transformation, healthcare sustainability, and patient-centred care, all of which are directly relevant to today’s rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.

The Express and Men’s Health magazine have recently published articles about mouth cancer… and both publications sought advice from our specialist surgeons Alastair Fry and Luke Cascarini.
In The Express article “Mouth cancer symptoms: Lumps in the mouth could be a warning sign“, Alastair highlights two of the common symptoms: lumps in the mouth and neck.
